This rendering is by one of the multitalented participants at a recent forum on urban agriculture, ecology, composting, community and biodiversity held in Townsville. I was fortunate to be represent Gleanr team along with other panelist Dr Keith Noble from Inside-Out Architects, Anni Brownjohn the founder of Ozganics Australia and Gardening Australia Host Costa Georgiadis. The forum included presenters from both local and State government as well as range of industry leaders. One of they key points I was presenting was the critical role of proper planning of the way limited space is used by community. Urban agriculture can play vital role in the resilience of communities when there is a clear pathway for engagement in a diverse and collaborative way.
More to come as we plan future events to further drive capacity for all to participate in local food systems.
