At its heart Gleanr is a community; a supportive and a collaborative community of motivated people who appreciate urban food gardening as being much more than simply cultivation.
It is also a way of expressing connections to local ecologies, people and urban culture. Gleanr has been designed by urban food growers for urban food growers. Most importantly, to preserve the core values of our approach, we put respect for the privacy of our members first, which is why the information you share on your profile will never be on-sold to a third party. Ever. What we have done is make sure that our members can connect easily with other food growing lovers.
As with the African proverb, ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, so Gleanr believes that each garden will be better with the help of many. Being able to talk to others and swap tips, learn new ways of making your garden your pride and joy is what motivated us to embed a community function into the Gleanr platform.
